Highest paying nursing jobs in Canada (2021). Nursing highest paid jobs

Hi everyone,

In this video I will talk about the highest paid salaries nurses can have in Canada in 2021. I will preface by stating the no one should do a job for financial reward, especially one in healthcare. Nursing is one of the most challenging professions but it is extremely rewarding. With that being said, let’s talk about the highest paid nursing professions.

Lets get right into todays video and talk about the different positions nurses can hold and how much they earn while doing it.

  1. Experienced Acute Registered Nurse.

A nurse who makes top wage which in 2021 can be upwards of 39 – 47 dollars depending on your province, ontario being the highest makes a base pay of 77 – 92 thousand dollars. And as I have mentioned in my other video, this does not include ANY overtime or more importantly ANY differentials that raise your salary 3, 5 or 6 dollars an hour extra! However this comes with many years of experience close to 10 years or more of experience to reach those figures.

  1. Head Nurse/Patient Care Supervisor/Charge Nurse

These nurses are typically the most experienced nurses in the hospital and have worked in many different areas. They know the ins and outs of the hospital and are very knowledge about patient care, dealing with staff and also patient complaints in a professional manner. These nurses can make upwards of 90 – 100,980 dollars, the highest paid being in british columbia.

  1. Clinical Nurse Specialist

These nurses are excellent with pathophysiology of disease processes and understand the scope of nursing practice in every setting. They are typically the ones providing training and education to staff on new products or different products that are not typically used. For instance a rapid transfuser or setting up a minesota tube! These are complicated things and they are there for nurses who require extra support and they make anywhere between 80 – 110 thousand dollars the highest province for them being manitoba.

  1. Nurse practitioner

These are advanced practice nurses, typically training for 2 years in addition to the bachelors and receive a master’s degree. They get paid upwards of 102 – 121 thousand dollars, the highest paying province being Manitoba. Again, this is a provider role that you learn to adopt and are in separate work schedule than a registered nurse. If you want to learn more about them check it out my nurse practitioner explained video where I talk all about them.

  1. Nurse Anesthetist

The average pay for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is $188,302 a year and $91 an hour in Canada. The average salary range for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is between $128,922 and $235,814. On average, a Master’s Degree is the highest level of education for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

So there you have those are 5 of the highest paying nursing jobs in Canada in 2021. Now again, I will mention that you should never pursue a career based on money but I do realize income makes a huge impact on your lifestyle. That is why I decided to make this video, to educate people on the many different career choices you can pursue in nursing and how much you can make in doing so.
